It may have been a grey, dreary cold day in Duluth but members of the Lake Superior Modern Quilt Guild grabbed their brightest quilts, bundled up, and gathered for a walkabout around Duluth's iconic Aerial Lift Bridge!

Duluth quilters strut stuff in Canal Park
On Thursday, March 8th, we had our first meeting at our new location, Harrison Community Club, 3002 W 3rdStreet. So without further ado, let’s review what took place.
Lynn Carson Harris
It was announced Lynn has been booked for October 4th-6th. Thursday, October 4th will be a trunk show. Full Day classes to be offered Friday and Saturday, October 5th and 6th are ‘String Theory’ and ‘Intuitive Piecing with Solids’. More details on registration will be available at the April meeting. If you want to see more of Lynn’s work or read more about her the link to her website and Instagram account are below. Her book, Every Last Piece, is also in our lending library.
Riley Blake Challenge
The Riley Blake Challenge fabric packs were handed out at the March meeting. If you weren’t able to pick yours up they will be at the April meeting as well. Any packs not picked up by the April meeting may be used for future door prizes, so……..if you can’t make the April meeting please arrange for someone else to pick up your fabric and please let Sue S. know. You can contact her via the Guild email.

The evening closed with Show and Tell. Joan H, March’s Quilter of the Month, led off our Show and Tell. She told us a bit of her quilting journey. She also showed us some lovely hand dyed fabrics she has done recently. Photos can be found on our Instagram page.
Jane Sassaman Trunk Show/Workshop: The Chequamegon Bay Quilters contacted us about a lecture and workshop they are hosting, featuring Jane Sassaman on May 4th through 6th. Information and registration form is attached to this email.
Local Quilt Show: Creations Quilt Shop and Higby’s Quilt Shop (Floodwood) are teaming up to sponsor a quilt show in June to be held at the Shriner’s Temple in Hermantown. Please contact Creations Quilt Shop for more information.
