Our weekend class started Friday night with a Trunk Show by Donalee Kennedy, an artist and quilter from Bayfield, Wisconsin. She shared her amazing pieces that she has created and talked about her studies with Nancy Crow. After the Trunk Show it was our turn to start improv-ing with intent! Before sitting down at our machines Donalee covered design principles, and talked about color and contrast. Then she set us free to start working without printed patterns. Each person started cutting, sewing, standing back and looking, and kept going. It was a wonderful class that challenged everyone in different ways.
