QUILT WALKABOUT
It may have been a grey, dreary cold day in Duluth but members of the Lake Superior Modern Quilt Guild grabbed their brightest quilts, bundled up, and gathered for a walkabout around Duluth's iconic Aerial Lift Bridge! Can you believe it !?! The December Holiday Party/Meeting is next week!
Holiday Pot Luck: We still need people to sign up for Salads and Drinks. (There is also one dessert slot left.) You can find the sign up here. Thanks to everyone who already signed up to bring something. Remember, bring your own serving bowl and utensils for what ever food item you bring. We are not allowed to use the bowls and utensils from the kitchen. Holiday Yankee Swap: Bring a wrapped gift, with a value of no more than $10.00, to the December meeting. The gift can be handmade, store bought, a combo of both, Holiday themed or not. In other words, the two only 'rules' for the swap are: 1) Keep the value of the gift to no more than $10.00 and 2) Bring your present to the party wrapped. The gifts will be exchanged via a 'Yankee Swap'. For those who have not participated in a Yankee Swap before, here are the guidelines: Everyone who brings a gift will get a number. The number represents your turn for choosing a gift. As gifts are chosen they are unwrapped so everyone can see the gift. As people take their turns they have the choice to either steel a gift or choose a wrapped gift. After an unwrapped gift has been stolen twice it is declared 'Safe' and can not be stolen a third time. If a gift is stolen from you, you get to choose another gift. You can either choose a wrapped gift or a steal a gift that is still available for stealing. This game is loads of fun when people are willing to steal gifts. Everyone who brings a gift will go home with a gift. 2019 Dues: If you haven't paid dues yet you can do so at the December meeting or via our this page on our website. To access the registration form, click on the link at the bottom of the page. Show and Tell: Of course there will be Show and Tell! See you Thursday, December 12th at Harrison Community Center, 3002 West 3rd Street
